Product Developement and
Project Management, based in Leipzig, Germany.

In the past few years I have worked in R&D for big companies like Skylotec and Fendt (AGCO Corp).With Skylotec, the leading manufacturer in fall protection systems, I worked on
new automated evac systems,
carabiners for sport and industry,
certifications processes
and creating new testing facilities.While my time at Fendt I was not only part of the development team, but also in charge of the the communication between R&D and the assembly line for the Rogator series in Germany.
Solving issues during the ongoing pre-production of the new the models was one of my tasks.
Finding quick solutions for big problems fast, while keeping everything on track.At Gearloose Engineering I focus on turning the customers ideas into real products. The intention is to deliver what the customer wants, while creating the best functionality and staying practical.As Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional (CSWA & CSWP)
I not only design complete new ideas, but also help companies with their daily tasks.

The Leipzig-based company tex–lock has been known for many years for innovative security solutions made from high-tech fibers that combine lightness and robustness in a unique way.Gearloose Engineering has worked closely with tex-lock to create their first lock with an integrated lock body.

Taking the idea of creating a lock-body for a textile bike lock. Moving away from the standard U-lock solutions towards a fully integrated lock body.The challange was finding a way to fix a soft, flexible textile to a solid metal part. All while providing enough strength to function as a bike lock and to pass the ART*2 rating (dutch secruity rating for bike locks)The result of this collaboration is orbit.
An award winning bike lock,
which has sold far more then 100.000 units.The lock won the german Design & Innovation Award and the Tapei Cycling Show Award.

Mate Balance

The German brand caámate. is known for offering high-quality mate tea sourced through fair and direct trade. Their products are 100% organic -
a commitment to purity, sustainability, and authentic taste.
To develop a new cup insert for their mugs, caámate. partnered with Gearloose Engineering.

The idea behind this product was simple - create a cup insert for an existing stainless steel cup.The result of this collaboration is the Mate Balance Insert – a carefully engineered component that optimizes the opening, flow, and stability of the mate preparation ritual.
While working on this insert, we disovered that many factors influence the taste of the yerba mate. For example the slope of the funnel, the area of the plateau and the size of the opening, just being some of these.
For a rich, full and satisfying taste, over thirty iterations of this product had to be tested, to finalize it.
In this project Gearloose Engineering did CAD work, also sourced different manufactures and did all the finalizing steps that were neccessary for mass prodcution.The product enjoys great popularity among customers, which results in many thousand sold units already.

covid face shield

Collaboration with Dick & Dick
to make a non profit face shield to support hospitals while covid-19.

While covid-19 hit, it was our commitment to make a face shield locally and provide it to doctors and hospitals in need.The objective of the project was clear: create a protective solution that is safe, comfortable, and easy to manufacture, while enabling immediate distribution to those who needed it most.
Additive manufacturing allowed the teams to bypass traditional supply chain limitations and iterate quickly, ensuring both functional performance and scalability during a time of critical demand.The headband structure was designed to be lightweight yet durable, with a geometry that offered secure fit and long-term wearing comfort. Multiple design iterations refined the curvature and attachment mechanisms, ensuring that the shield remained stable while allowing the transparent visor to be replaced easily.The speciality about this face shield is that it was designed to be printed flat. This gave us the advantages of being able to print many headbands at once via the HP MJF printers. Further, because of this characteristic, we were able to ship the visors flat. Resulting in many visors with minimal packaging.For this project we partnered with the Dick & Dick, a local 3D printing provider. While Gearloose Engineering did much of the project management and material sourcing, Dick & Dick took care of the production and shippment.

Ongoing concept of securing your bike to the alarm of your car.

In collaboration through nova-nex and Gearloose Engineering, they have developed a smart, intuitive solution that turns your bike and vehicle into a single, secure team.The result of this collaboration is the vagd Bicycle Lock – a system designed to be effortless, reliable, and seamlessly integrated. Simply plug the lock into your car’s trailer socket, and via a Y-connector, both your bike carrier and lock receive constant power.
Click, lock, go! The setup is immediate, and your bike is protected.Should the worst happen, and someone attempts to steal your bike, the car’s alarm system is triggered. With a radius of up to 100 meters, the alarm ensures maximum deterrence while alerting you in real time. When paired with the manufacturer’s app, your smartphone notifies you instantly of any theft attempt, providing complete peace of mind wherever your bike is parked.
